First, the big public party devoted to celebration of "Day of the Earth" has been carried out on 22, April, 2002 by members of "Altera" in cooperation with "The Center of Children Creativity", also "The Belarusian organization of working women" and handicapped children whose have been invited for participation in the holiday. Altogether — adults, children, pupils from four schools around and volunteers of "Altera" — we have planted lindens around a spring in the "Vostok-1" district of Minsk.

National songs and dances by ensemble of the Center — "Belaruskie Karunki" — pleased all the participants of the action and created a special atmosphere of the holiday. A representative of local administration warmly welcomed everybody of sharers and inhabitants of neighboring houses.

Next, do you know that there are about 19 thousand small rivers in Belarus? Indeed! They create unique beauty of our native land. One of those small rivers near Minsk — Ptich — chokes under a layer of dust now. Well, no one can clear the whole river alone, but together we can make it!

During three years, in the spring and in the autumn we come to the "Museum of national architecture and life" which territory the river Ptich belongs to. Houses of all styles and from all areas of Belarus are collected there. It gives us the possibility to imagine the way our ancestors lived many years ago. People come on Ptich coast to have a rest with family and friends. Unfortunately, some of such tourists leave a lot of trash and stuff there.

Thus, about 450 kg of dust are gathered, more than 1500 meters of territory of a museum adjoining to Ptich were cleaned during several actions by volunteers and members of "Altera".
